Why bring the famed pop-up to D.C. you ask?  Well Ilegal Mezcal has been in vocal opposition to the Donald Trump campaign since his candidacy announcement in July 2015.  The brand has plastered & projected the slogan "Donald Eres Un Pendejo" around major US cities & raised money for different charities through the sale of shirts with the same slogan.  They decided they were bringing their message to the nations capital prior to the election.

2435 18th Street NW in Adam's Morgan will be transformed into "Bar Ilegal," a D.C. outpost of Cafe No Sé, a small bar & music hub in Antigua, Guatemala where Ilegal originated. Owner John Rexer operated the actual speakeasy turned legit bar, attracting expats, artists, musicians and mezcal enthusiasts from around the world.  For seven nights only, guests can sip Ilegal Mezcal, a selection of wild agave mezcals, infused mezcals, and mexican beer, all ranging from $5-$10. A late night food menu will be provided by Chef Fransisco.

The pop up will also feature live musical performances & guest bartenders from NYC, LA & the local DC area.  Schedule to be announced online and via social media. In December?, the space will take shape & become home to Rosario, a new Italian concept by Chef Logan and John Adrade.
